I'm a fan of your work, and I appreciate how you show the development of your images. Personally, I can draw well from life, but I have a hard time conceiving of things without reference. I was wondering if you could expand a bit more on your thought process when you are doing thumbnails and initial ideation. For example, I see here 3 steps, but how do you get from a blank canvas to that first image?
Ahoy MT-Mystic. I guess it comes from surrounding yourself with inspiration and reference. Spider tanks are not new and I'm just riffing on an old idea. Ghost in the Shell has an awesome spider tank in the final action scene... If you haven't seen it run out and watch it now. So in this case you could say the inspiration was Ghost in the Shell, and if I was going to flesh this out properly I would gather up a bunch of images for reference eg: real tanks, Hydraulics, mechanical images, hanger, factory etc. Hope this helps
